Venus 120 GPS Receiver RF Frond End

The Venus120 is an integrated low-noise RF front-end for GPS receiver in the L1 band. Based on a low-IF architecture, the chip down-converts the 1575.42 MHz GPS (L1 band) signal to 4.092 MHz signal or 4.08 MHz signal. The integrated synthesizer supports 13/ 16.368/19.5 and 26 MHz reference frequencies which are commonly used in GPS systems and in cell phone applications.Venus120 operates from a single +1.8 V DC supply over a temperature range of -40 to +85 oC, consuming 15.5 mA (14 mA disabling on-chip LNA) and requiring  minimum external components. It is fabricated on a 0.18 um CMOS process and housed in a thin 24 lead QFN package, presenting superior radio performance and low cost.

The Venus 6 chip is ideal for consumer GPS applications ranging from handset, personal navigation, photo geo-tagging, to security tracking that requires extreme low power, very high-performance, and low-cost.

VENUS624LP Low Power GPS/AGPS Baseband – ROM Version

The Venus624LP is a high-performance GPS baseband processor intended for embedded portable applications. It contains all the baseband function required for GPS signal acquisition, tracking, and navigation solution. The Venus624LP is designed to allow easy integration of GPS into application systems. A dedicated massive-correlator signal parameter search engine enables rapid search of all available satellites and acquisition of very weak signals. An advanced track engine allows weak signal tracking and positioning in severe environments such as urban canyons and under deep foliage. With exceptional signal acquisition speed, it has very low average power consumption for locate on demand type of applications. A complete low-cost high-performance GPS receiver can be built with Venus624LP, a compatible GPS RF front-end, and a small number of external components.
